A Little Bit About Me

From Plymouth to Powder Days — After 5 Countries, Fernie Is the Home That Stuck

Hi There!

Hi, I'm Hayley Richings  & I’m excited to connect and share a little about myself.

Firstly, I’m a REALTOR® based in Fernie, in the East Kootenays.

Originally from Plymouth, UK, I made the move to Fernie, BC, with my husband after falling in love with the people, the mountain lifestyle, and the incredible sense of community here. Like many who arrive, what started as an adventure quickly became home. Having made the move myself, I truly understand what draws people to this special place.

You’ll often find me out exploring the trails and lakes of the Elk Valley — whether that’s on foot, bike, skis, or canoe. I love being outdoors and taking in everything this beautiful area has to offer. For me, the Elk Valley is all about adventure, connection, and appreciating the incredible place we get to call home.

Over the last 15 years, I’ve had the pleasure of living and working in some of the most beautiful countries in the world — including Japan, Italy, France, and Bulgaria, to name a few. I first stumbled upon Fernie back in 2016 and lived here for two years. The moment I left in 2018, I knew Fernie was the place where I wanted to put down roots.

I believe real estate should feel approachable, and I’m always happy to sit down, have a cup of tea, and talk through your plans. My goal is to make buying or selling in the Elk Valley a clear, comfortable, and positive experience.

Whether you’re new to the area, thinking about making a move, or simply want to connect, I’d love to chat and help you feel at home in the Elk Valley.

What It's Like to Work With Me:
Clear, Comfortable, Kettle Always On

Working in the Century 21 Office in Fernie
  • I've made the move myself. I know exactly what it feels like to land somewhere new and try to figure out where you belong — I'll make sure you never feel like just another transaction.

  • I actually know these trails, not just the listings. Between hiking, biking, skiing, and canoeing my way around the Elk Valley, I can tell you what a neighbourhood actually feels like to live in, not just what's on the spec sheet.

  • No jargon, no pressure — just a chat and a cup of tea. I believe buying or selling should feel clear and comfortable, and I'll always take the time to walk you through your options honestly.

  • A global perspective, a local heart. Having lived and worked across five countries, I bring an open, adaptable approach to every client — wherever you're coming from.

  • I show up, and I follow through. Hardworking and responsive, because your move matters as much to me as it does to you.

Comfort food? Hands down, a Sunday roast — rain or shine, we had one every week growing up, with my Nan pulling up a chair at the table too.
